I like the name Betsy. Kyle, you have played your shots well--not too eager, just getting to know each other as people, have fun, etc. . . That is what carries the day in the long run, anyway (regardless of what happens with each of your futures).

On to Janet. Mixed feelings. There shouldn't be such surprizes with young viewers watching. I admire the human body, and don't think it needs to be hidden, tho. I found most of the "entertainment" objectionable, however, and far more so than the breast. Poor talent, screaming lyrics that essentially glorified decontextualized sex--as though, sex is the endpoint, and nirvana. It all seemed so adolescent--which is likely what the target market is for the NFL to sell their product long term. I am tired of our schizophrenic treatment of sex. Dean
Well, Jason,
The Janet Jackson thing is just weird. She planned it, cause she got this pasty thing like 2 weeks before the show. Then she and Timberlake talked about it after the last rehearsal and decided to do it. It was just stupid. The half time show has nothing to do with the game. I did not see the whole super bowl, but I heard there were other offensive things beside the boob issue. It is true that alot of kids like to watch the half time part of it and parents make a point of letting them know when half time starts. I do not think is was right to do something like that on prime time when alot of kids could be watching. I think she was absolutely wrong. Justin T has apologized but J.J. refuses. Who does she think she is anyway? I am angry that she did it and there should be consequences somewhere.
So much for that. Kyle, I am excited for you and your date for Valentine's Day. Betsy is lucky. Hope it all works out great. Hope to hear from the silent bloggers out there soon. Love you all, Sue

Yes mom, I'm here. And like everyone else (probably), I check the blog hoping for something new without committing myself to posting. What a hypocrite I am.

So I'm posting.

We got in a really interesting argument on my friends blog about the janet jackson boob incident during super bowl. We got into whether or not that type of nudity should be a big deal. Well, that's oversimplifying, but it was pretty cool. Anyway, I thought I'd post it here. That is to say...does anyone have any interesting comments about it?

Anyway, I'm doing school stuff, working on Music Ministry stuff, and doing a lot of nothing. It still amazes me how easy it is for me to do nothing when I have little to do, and then I don't get even the smallest amount done, where as if I have a lot to do, I crack down and am productive. Lesson: I'd much rather be busy then not. I work better under those conditions. But on the upshot...you all get to read a post from me.

Jeff came into town the other night, and we had fun. We went out and ate dinner, played pool, and played Golden Tee (the best arcade golf game ever). It was fun. And then he stopped by my work today (his old work) and said hi to all his old coworkers and we went out to lunch. I love you B.

And I love all the rest of you, hope you're keeping it real. Please give me a window into your lives now.

in Christ,
jason
